$35.00

An archival giclée print of Mt. Rainier from the “Local Conditions” series.

Description

Point Robinson Light, built in 1915 and located on Maury Island, Washington, marks the halfway point between Tacoma and Seattle. Though the original Fresnel lens is no longer active and the light was automated in 1978, Point Robinson’s flashing beacon still shines today. The lighthouse is now a part of Vashon-Maury Island Park. In this illustration, Mt. Rainier peeks through the clouds in the background.

This 9 x 12 print is a reproduction of the original letterpress piece from “Local Conditions,” a series depicting Washington’s Mt. Rainier from a variety of different vantage points. (You can read more about the project here.) There are 15 different designs in the series; you can find all available prints here.

The original artwork was letterpress printed by hand on an antique Vandercook No. 4 press and then hand-painted with watercolor.

Paper size is 12 x 9.
