Tacoma Waterfront giclée print

$35.00

An archival giclée print of Mt. Rainier from the “Local Conditions” series.

Description

This location is one of the most well-known and oft-photographed views of Tacoma, Washington, and is frequently pictured on postcards and souvenirs. Mount Rainier towers over the skyline of the city, but a woman walking along the path brings the scene back to an intimate point of view. The high-tide waters of Puget Sound lap at the rocky shore, and the whole scene evokes our flawless summer days—Washington’s best kept secret.

This 9 x 12 print is a reproduction of the original letterpress piece from “Local Conditions,” a series depicting Washington’s Mt. Rainier from a variety of different vantage points. (You can read more about the project here.) There are 15 different designs in the series; you can find all available prints here.

The original artwork was letterpress printed by hand on an antique Vandercook No. 4 press and then hand-painted with watercolor.

Paper size is 12 x 9.
