Apple Orchard giclée print

$35.00

An archival giclée print of Mt. Rainier and a Washington apple orchard from the “Local Conditions” series.

Description

In this piece, the view overlooks the eastern face of Mt. Rainier and the Yakima Valley, famous for its many vineyards and apple, pear and peach orchards. Washington state has been the top apple producer in the United States since the 1920s. Here, the apple and Mt. Rainier are equally well-known icons of our state.

This 9 x 12 print is a reproduction of the original letterpress piece from “Local Conditions,” a series depicting Washington’s Mt. Rainier from a variety of different vantage points. (You can read more about the project here.) There are 15 different designs in the series; you can find all available prints here.

The original artwork was letterpress printed by hand on an antique Vandercook No. 4 press and then hand-painted with watercolor.

Paper size is 12 x 9.
