I took a rare day off on Friday, to get out of the studio and gather some inspiration in the…um..field.
My trip turned into a mini-adventure,
full of Washington wonders.
Catching the moonrise on my way home was an extra-special bonus, because it reminded me to set an alarm—
—so that I could catch a nice postscript to the day’s excitement.
Where did you go for the tulips? I just went to a place south of Portland but next year I will live in Seattle or Tacoma and would love to know there is a place closer!
Megan, the Tulip Festival is up in the Skagit Valley, just under 2 hours north of Tacoma and a little over an hour north of Seattle. I’ve heard of the one near Portland, but I think the Skagit Valley one is bigger. The fields change every year (crop rotation), so it’s really a different experience from year to year. I’ve gone every year I’ve lived here but one, and I think it’s totally worth it—especially since it’s very close to some other amazing places, like Whidbey Island and the San Juans.
